Research Data Policy

Private research, institutional rights and sharing that you authorize.

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Rights remain with the rights holders

Free access does not transfer ownership of your research to NeoraLab. Existing rights in inputs and outputs remain with the relevant researchers, institutions, employers, collaborators and other rights holders. You need permission to submit and process materials under funding agreements, third-party licences and confidentiality obligations.

NeoraLab retains rights in its platform and independently owned scientific work. Those rights do not create ownership of a user’s compounds, targets, prompts, results or discoveries. Computational outputs do not guarantee patentability, exclusive rights or freedom to operate.

Private research is the default

Research you submit is treated as private service content, not a public submission or contribution to a commercial dataset. We process it to perform your requested workflows, store and return results, support authorized collaboration, maintain security and meet legal obligations.

Necessary hosting and inference providers process private materials for service delivery; authorized personnel may need access for support, security or legal requirements. Provider retention and international processing depend on the services used. The Privacy Notice explains recipients and the personal-data framework; project-specific requirements must be agreed in advance.

Do not submit patient records or restricted personal data through the standard service. For patent-critical or contract-restricted work, discuss required safeguards and any separate agreement before uploading.

The platform is a development preview, rather than a dedicated deployment or a negotiated research-services agreement. Agree any project-specific confidentiality, processing or preservation requirements in writing before submitting the relevant material. Our statutory duties and the limits on our use of private research continue to apply.

Collaboration and deliberate sharing

Adding collaborators or deliberately sharing an export gives recipients access to the materials you share. Check roles, recipients and restrictions first. Recipients may retain copies after access is removed; a shared download link may grant access while it remains valid.

Sharing with colleagues or publishing your own work does not automatically authorize NeoraLab to sell it or train models on it. There is no separate Community Shared or Commercial Contribution mode in this release.

No automatic commercial or model-training licence

Neither free access, acceptance of the Terms, platform use nor removal of personal identifiers authorizes NeoraLab to sell, publish or license private research, or use it to train general-purpose models. Necessary inference to answer your request is different from permission to train on your research.

Commercial data contribution is deferred. Any future contribution requires a separate agreement with the authorized rights holder specifying records, permitted uses, recipients, restrictions, duration and withdrawal or termination rules. A researcher cannot grant institutional rights they do not hold.

Scientific datasets offered by NeoraLab must have an independently established rights basis, such as its own work or an appropriate third-party licence. Removing names does not clear confidential scientific IP, patent-sensitive structures or source-licence restrictions.

Joint discovery programs

Joint research and co-development are separate from free core access. Before joint work, agree confidentiality, background and foreground IP, results, publication, access and commercial terms. A platform application or general inquiry does not assign these rights or replace that agreement.

Retention, export and deletion

Keep independent copies of results you need using available downloads. Contact [email protected] for access, export, closure or deletion assistance. Removing a project reference may not remove its underlying job, document or associated files; do not assume every related record is erased by one action.

During development, failed jobs, software changes or environment resets can affect availability of work. The preview is not an archival or backup service and carries no agreed recovery or preservation period unless separately contracted. Keep independent copies; this does not waive applicable security, retention or personal-data obligations.

Research records, logs, provider copies and backups can have different lifecycles. Deletion is subject to applicable legal obligations and relevant retention requirements. We explain any remaining retention and limits when handling a request.

Read the Privacy Notice for personal-data processing and rights. The Terms of Service govern platform access and scientific responsibility.
